All players who are unsigned at the end of a season have a 3% chance per year of age of retiring.  At age 30 all players who end the season on a team have a .25% chance of retiring per year of age at age 35 that increases to 1% per year.

Examples:     An unsigned 23 year old player has a 69% chance of retiring. A 31 year old player who ends the season on a roster has a 7.75% chance of retiring. While a 38 year old player who is on a teams roster has a 38% chance of retiring.

If a player decides to retire the team will have a chance to talk him out of retiring. If a team chooses to do this they will have a 50% of success with the player of their choice. If the team has more than one player wanting to retire they will have only a 25% chance of success with any additional players. If the player is wanting to retire after the end of his contract the team would have to offer him a contract which meets his salary demand and can last for no more than 3 years. If the player is wanting to retire during his contract the team would have to raise his salary 20% for him to consider staying in the league.
